The Staircase Band

With their well-honed and untempered performance, the Staircase Band, a septet of trumpet, trombone, fiddle, accordion, bass, harp and percussion will stir up a hurly-burly dervish. Fleet-fingered, and on the wonk, The Staircase Band specialise in early 20th century Eastern swing, and have played at over 30 Cambridge balls over the last three years, as well as London venues such as The Roundhouse, and Cargo. They have recently released their first album, 'The Staircase Band', and are available for hire.

"The Staircase Band or" The fascinating witches who put the scintillating stitches in the britches of the boys who put the powder on the noses of the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Caractacus. Who knew an Accordion, Violin, Trombone, Trumpet, Double Bass, Harp and Percussion sounded so good together? Or that it was even possible to say the full name of the band as fast as Merlin can?

'The Staircase Band stormed the stage and transformed the sophisticated, stylish atmosphere of the theatre into a wonderful explosion of noise, energy and laughter. I've never felt the seats shake so much, which was the result both of laughing, and of an impulsive desire to get up and dance.'
